Weapon Set

Deciding factor: Item Bonuses

With recent Mods, the Weapon Set Bonuses got bigger and thus Mastercraft Weapon Sets lost quite a bit of interest. Mastercraft Weapons are (typically) no longer used by DPS and even Healers and Tank start ditching them for higher personal gains!

Supportive

The best support set is the Mastercraft set!

Mastercraft Weapon Set

☆☆☆ One Recommended Choice

Best support set! (+0 / +1) At +1: 2000 IL.

The new mastercraft set buffs the whole team! If everyone would wear it, it would give +10% outgoing damage and -10% incoming damage. Even without others wearing it, the increased damage to the party is always welcome. Recommended set to wear!

Note: The Outgoing Healing is added to the Outgoing Healing multiplier, but goes over the cap of 90%. This is usual behavior for the Outgoing Healing stat!

Lesser alternatives. Too expensive to get!
Cheap starter alternative!

Weaver's Weapon Set

☆☆

Slighty less buffing Weapon Set for Underdark content. A good choice if you have it for free!

Works similar to mastercraft weapons, with the difference of more Item Level and more personal damage bonuses and a smaller bonus to the party. As the goal of a tank is to support the party as good as possible, masterwork stays BiS for supporters!

Unfortunately devs decided to put no artifact bonuses on the new weapon sets anymore. This means a loss of 10% damage to the main At-Will, -2500 stat points and 2.5% - 5% to a Boost.

Defensive

With recent Mods

The most noteworthy Weapon Set that increases survivability a lot is the Earthen Set.

Earthen Weapon Set

☆☆☆ One Recommended Choice

Worth to note is the legacy set “Earthen Heart” which can decrease incoming damage by 25% if one does not move for 15s! Absolutely great for Tower of the Mad Mage! Unfortunately it is only available by certain Boxes. If one still has it and can reliably make use of it then it can be used instead of Lionheart or even Mastercraft!

Voidtouched Weapon Set (and Xaryxian Weapon Set)

☆☆☆ One Recommended Choice (for Bosses without adds)

A decent 5% Damage Reduction + another 6% Damage Reduction after 20 seconds without adds! In Wildspace, this increases to +12% Damage Resistance and +12% Movement Speed. So its bonus might max out at

  • 11% Damage Resistance in non Wildspace

  • 17% Damage Resistance +12% Movement Speed in Wildspace!

Great for recent content and hard to pass for the Infernal Citadel (Master) (especially trainings).

Xaryxian Weapon Set

Lesser version of the Voidtouched Weapon Set! Easy to get!

Solarium Weapon Set

☆☆☆ One Recommended Choice for Wildspace (Defense of the Moondancer, The Infernal Citadel)!

A decent +12% Damage Resistance in Wildspace! Not recommended to use outside Wildspace.

Legendary Version

Lesser version of the Solarium Weapon Set!

Durgarn Weapon Set

☆☆

Not too bad. I would still take Mastercraft Weapon Set instead. Bad versus boss-less phases and early bursts, but there are currently barely any of those situations. Great Item Level and great and reliable bonus.

Hybrid

All offensive Weapon Sets also provide some defensive bonus, thus the category is called hybrid!

Meteoric Weapon Set

☆☆ For Wildspace (otherwise ☆)

Good set for Wildspace: -8% Incoming damage + up to 3% additional damage. Not that easy to get but still good.

Perfect Weapon Set

A Weapon Set to show the pugs, that you don't need them in random queues! Otherwise not of much use. Not really recommended!

Lionheart Weapon Set

Easy to buy Weapon Set. Not really great but still good.

Starter Weapon Sets

All other sets not listed here are not good enough or require a too high amount of time to farm them.

Legion Guard Weapon Set

☆ Starter Weapon Set

Weapon set, which is extremely easy to get and which buffs the party. Recommended for beginners that have not delved into the Mountain of Flame or Northdark Reaches yet!

Watcher Weapon Set

☆ Starter Weapon Set

Good starter set if you got it for free.

Mountaineer Weapon Set

☆ Starter Weapon Set

Not a bad beginner's set. Can be chosen with enough Trade bars. Worse than the Watcher set.

Stormforged Weapon Set

☆ Starter Weapon Set

A free to get weapon set. Not too bad, as the 7.5% damage mitigation can be controlled with its minimum of 50% downtime. Especially great with its Underdark bonus. However, for survivability alone, the Durgarn set is better. For enough tanky tanks or supporters not that useful, as the party gets nothing. Thus it is not recommended to wear this set.

Encased Magma Weapon Set

☆ Starter Weapon Set

An easy to get weapon set. Not too bad, with +5% (2.5% outside of fire-themed maps) Defense and a good portion of offense portential!
