Deciding factor: Item Stats
The Armor Kits are used to raise the Item Level and slightly change the stat distribution into a more favorable way. The Armor Kits do not represent a change in the stat distribution only, they add ⅓ more stats than Item Level would suggest! This is of course a welcome addition of stats. Armor Kits can be slotted into Head Pieces, Armor Pieces, Arm Pieces and Feet Pieces. Thus 4 Armor Kits can be taken. Armor Kits have different Ranks and are made through the Crafting System. The lesser versions and normal versions shall be ignored, because the only Kits of interest are the ones with the highest Item Level which contain a name along Major {???} Armor Kit +1. There are 8 different Armor Kits available: 4 offense ones and 4 defense ones. For survivability only the defensive focused ones are of interest. The four choices then are:
Major Hit Points Armor Kit +1: +3520 Hit Points.
Major Defense Armor Kit +1: +880 Defense.
Major Critical Avoidance Armor Kit +1: +880 Critical Avoidance.
Major Deflection Armor Kit +1: +880 Deflect.
Kits are quite cheap and switching gear does not happen that often. Thus it is recommended to take:
Defense, if Defense rating is not capped
Critical Avoidance, when Defense rating is capped and the current focus lies on surviving tank busters
Hit Points, when Defense rating is capped and scaled content is played often
Deflect should be taken as the last choice in the current game state (see HP-Deflect comparison).
Note: In my experience, Defense is already covered enough by Insignias and other sources. Critical Avoidance rating and Hit Points can be interchanged via Insignias, thus both of them are good options.
